Dr. Robert Blakely

Dr. Robert Blakely was born and raised on Long Island where he attended Molloy College in Rockville Centre and graduated in 2012 with a BS in Biology and a minor in Chemistry.

Afterwards, he spent 2 years at the New York Aquarium working with their large marine mammals, sharks, penguins, and sea otters. He then attended Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2018. Dr. Blakely is excited to be back on Long Island as a general practitioner with special interests in dermatology and oncology. Starting at Sachem Animal Hospital as an associate in 2020, he is now the medical director and managing veterinarian. He also teaches at Suffolk Community College in their veterinary technician program.

Dr. Blakely is a member of the Long Island Veterinary Medical Association, The New York Veterinary Medical Society, and the American Veterinary Medical Association.

He lives in Hauppauge with his wife Ivanah, his daughter Charlotte, his dogs Ernie and Finn, his cats Clive and Archie, and his chinchilla Ellie. When not at work, he enjoys dining out, true crime movies/ podcasts, and family time.
